tibbs.james 1 Report post Posted August 30, 2007 Hi guys I have just had my getrag box back from My do it all engineer who used to build race box's Had the fluid flushed, front and rear seals replaced & gearbox was tested under load and is in perfect condition aparently .He told me to check what oil to put in there as it may require ATF fluid I believe this is a FL box as it has no hole for the flywheel sensor and i think David (silverfox) said that it came from an earlier car so im not sure as to what year the box is. I have read other things online on other forums saying that depending on what colour sticker you have on the gearbox relates to the diffierent oil type. this from another forum Red Label................... Dexron II auto tranny fluid Green Label............... Synth gear oil No label..................... api-GL-4 SAE 80 Non-hypoid gear oil or single grade HD engine oil So how do I know what "label" I have if I even have one??? Are they refering to a label on the tranny somewhere?? Im just confused and would like to be totally sure im using the correct oil. my initial thoughts were Redline or Ams oil 75/90 fully synthetic manual gearbox oil.
