tenfifty 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2007 I live in Queenstown and am new to BMW. We do not have a dealership here (suprising but true). I would like to give my gearbox a flush but would need to use a mechanic from a non-dealership or specialist shop, to do it here in Queenstown. I have a vibration between 25-35kph. The car is manufactured in Germany, so is not a jatco box. Should I drive it out of town to the nearsest specialist for a flush, what do you recommend. Thank you in advance. dave. ducatiss 1 Report post Posted September 5, 2007 (edited) No don't bother - its not a complex operation at all. Just about any mechanic will be able to manage it, While is very worthwhile doing, I dont think it will cure your problem. I got mine done by the local garage here in Roxburgh! my_e36 43 Report post Posted September 5, 2007 Just watch what gearbox fluid your car uses. BMWorkshop said my 98 e36 323i's gearbox uses one of those latter "Life Time" fluid, which is very expensive (something likes a $100 a litre). And it's not recommended to use other "normal" tranx fluid.
