E30 overheating problem

Recommended Posts

hey guys, just gave in to the masses and bought a 1988 E30 320i, 1 nz owner and only 104km. I was driving it back to home the other day and noticed the temperature gauge going up to 3/4 when I put my foot down and then back to half way while cruising. I put it on the hoist at work and noticed that coolant had been coming out (puddle on the floor). It has obviously only been recently flushed as the coolant is bright green and very clean. I am pretty sure that it is not a split hose as the leak is not that bad, seems to be dripping off the crossmember. I am wondering if it is the thermostat that has failed and the coolant is coming out through the overflow. Any help would be appreciated.

problem found! It was a small split in the bottom heater hose, now I just have to find one!

Would suggest you go new with any hoses, it's not worth the risk to try second hand.

Try Ray, or Gavin at Euro-Italian, or dealer.
