318Touring 40 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 First of all sorry if I'm asking stupid questions. Been wanting to try changing the two belts on my E36. Used the internet to find information on how to do it but what shown is different to the one I have. Main questions are: 1. AC belt, how do I get the tension off? See attachment 1. This picture is taken looking down to the engine space. Is the big bolt the correct bolt to take the tension off? Is CLOCKWISE the correct direction? 2. The main belt. See attachment 2. Which one is the correct bolt to use? The one circled in red or grey? Again is CLOCKWISE the correct direction? I'm using this website Cooling system and the one from pelicanparts.com as reference.
