Not a BMW nebbie just a forum nebbie.

Hello everybody,

I thought it best to introduce myself and post some photos before asking any questions in the other forums.

My partner and I with our two boys live in the great city of Christchurch. We got our first E30 three years ago; we still have that one and now have an E28 and another E30. So we have a 1987 320i (photo), 1987 525i and a 1986 325i TC Baur (photo), they are all lowered and the 320i has a loud exhaust, otherwise standard.

I was searching for BMW info like usual and found this website which I don’t know how I have missed for so long. Anyway I decided to join because you all sound like you know a lot, and I also could contribute as I have done a bit of research/ reading on BMW's with practical experience just mostly on an E30.

A few comments I have:

Since we got the bimmers we have noticed a very negative view about BMW overall, mostly I think because they are perceived as luxury cars and therefore they cost so much which they really don’t. It must be just ignorance because they also expect that every stock four door BMW will perform like an M series even if it is 20 years old.

Now I guess a lot of people have had this happen but getting our badges stolen is really annoying me.

And lastly my next BMW, I would get the new M3 convertible otherwise and more likely a 1 series. I like them for the styling, which because it is smaller, has some nice lines like the Z4.

Current project:

I am just finishing the striping of the 325i for full panel beating and new paint job. Which will be for my partner.

Future project:

Have read about the E30 racing series and am thinking I have an E30 how much to get it racing?

Well that’s all folks.

Adam.
