3series 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 (edited) Hi guys, I'm curious as to what compression test results people have got from checking there engines. More interested in the E30 318i M40's and E30 320i M20B20 (both fl and pre-fl) but all any results are useful if not for me for others as sort of a benchmark. If you could list the following: Chassis Number: Engine Model: Year: Facelift Or Pre Facelift Compressions: 001/002/003/004/005/006 Any any notes on major engine work thats been completed in say the last say 8 years that you know of. Heres an example of my old E30 316i (1.8L NZ New) Chassis: E30 Engine Model: M40B18 Year:1989 Facelift Compressions 180:185:185:180 Reconditioned engine within the last 5 years. Typically after doing a few AA checks on a few cars, the 2 E30 FL 320's (nearly 200km's both of them) that I checked were lower 150-155psi and a 318i 155-160 (150k's). 3series 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 (edited) I'm working on it Dave, still havent actually done it on the race car. Need to get the right nozell thing to do it. Only had trusty AA checks and receipts that detail my compressions I've had done to other cars. Place bets now! Edited March 11, 2008 by bmw3
