perf 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2008 Hey, if this is in the wrong section can a mod/admin please move it? OK, we have a e36 318IS sedan, auto, M44 engine. Have recently purchased a new m44 from Ray (cheers!) and have got it all bolted in and everything. The only problem I'm having is with the stainless steel fuel lines coming to/from the fuel rail. It seems that no matter which way we try and mount them, they foul on the manifold or starter motor or any number of things. We thought we had it right, but found that the pressurized line is fouling on the intake manifold, and as a result we cannot completely screw the fitting to the fuel rail (delivery line uses a AN style fitting and screws into the rail to secure a rubber o-ring, the return side just uses fuel hose and screw clamps). Currently, the delivery line comes out of the rail, down through a gap in the lower intake manifold (between cyl 3/4) and then down behind the starter motor and meets the rubber fuel lines from the tank/pump behind the passenger strut tower. Does anyone have any detailed images of how to run the two fuel lines? Its getting very frustrating and all that we need to get the car back on the road. We can get the car started and everything, but because the lines are slightly 'off' and cannot completely screw the fitting in, we get a very minor fuel leak. less than desirable
