Frosty44 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2008 (edited) Because E38s never had angel eyes, it's something that's fairly rare to see. As a result I think it looks cool and unique, but comes at the expense somewhat of breaking from the original design and associating the 7 with the rest of the BMW range... almost degrading its look as the sophisticated vehicle of the range (as it is not all that common to find tastefully modded angel eyes). However, I can recommend the following: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/177010/3 The angel eyes mod done here really enhances the cars front end and is something I have considered replicating myself, but never have the time nor the money. For further DIY advice, there are several pages listed at http://www.e38.org/ Apparently the best kits come from Umnitza, however I have also seen a video somewhere of a guy who simply melted plastic rods in his oven, bent them around some jar lids and cut little indents into the back of them. After drilling leds into the top of each ring he managed to produce a nice looking angel eye kit (and it would have been a lot cheaper than Umnitza stuff). Also, if you actually do it - post pics.
