WarNox 1 Report post Posted May 19, 2008 Hey, Not sure if such a thing as a 'rpm sensor' even exists in e36's but my rpm gauge is all over the place. Well its fine up to about 2000-2500rpm but after that it starts 'lagging'. As if its only receives a reading every 1-2sec and updates accordingly. I've tried searching around but cannot come up with anything. Appreciate any help, Gregor
kerrynzl 3 Report post Posted May 19, 2008 From what I've tried to decipher out of the bentley manual. the E36 picks up the RPM signal from the Crank position sensor on the front pulley [ toothed wheel ] what Engine have you got ??
Mike 1 Report post Posted May 19, 2008 (edited) everything else running fine? my first thought would be the tach (gauge) itself is on the way out, did it start all of a sudden or slowly been getting worse? Edited May 19, 2008 by Mike
