BMW NEWBIE

Recommended Posts

Hi all, have just bought my first BMW, it;s a '90 320 6cyl that needs a bit off TLC.

Steering rack, front shocks, and a waterpump problem.

It's been stood for a while and when started water poured out from around the waterpump, the old owner said that the seal perrishes and will need replacing is this the case, can someone give me a propper description of what I will need to do.

I currently have 3 VW Golfs x2 mk2 and a mk3 so rwd and BMW's are all new to me so knowledge would be appreciated. I'm widenening my horizons.

Some one also mentioned that the front shaocks are a VW Golf setup can anyone confirm this

if it's in that sort of condition you'll probably need to fit a new water pump, fairly straight foward. Pay to do the cambelt at the same time if I was you.

Front shocks are easy too, go new again, steering rack I'd go second hand, Ray at HellBM is a forum sponsor and can probably help you.

ps, welcome.

Hi.

this will help you with your rack.

Front shocks you need spring compressors to get the springs off before you can get to the shock otherwise its supposed to be quite easy. About $140 to get both fronts replaced at avg garage.

If you want get the bentley E30 manual iIve had mine a week it seems good.

Where bouts are you located?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Post up some pics (and just quietly squeeze in a couple of your Golfs  )

Good luck with things.

Some family ties but mostly the latter.
