318Touring 40 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 (edited) Press the PDC button to turn it off, at the centre console near ashtray. It does that all the time. Also when you turn the car off, it'll still beep for a couple of seconds. Edited May 28, 2008 by 318Touring
RvT 9 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Engage reverse and she does the job with the on screen graphics etc but engage drive and it wont turn off.Any members know how to change this setting ? thanks. silverlea BMW have done this for logical reasons on the Park Distance Controller (PDC). Not sure if all but some have PDC sensors on front bumper as well as rear. When you park a car in a car park on the street, you usually back in (which starts the PDC) then go forward. If you have PDC on the front, the system stays live so you can go forward until the alarm goes off again to show you how close you are. It usually shuts off after 10 secs. As 318Touring states, you can turn off the PDC at the touch of a button
silverlea 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Might help if you say what model it is? Just a thought 2005 545i motosport. have read the notes from other members, and while I'm aware of the 10second thing and the button behind the idrive knob, the only way to get it to turn off is to turn the car off, and then start again. Looks like a trip to the dealer ? thanks
318Touring 40 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Hmmm, I'm not sure I understand "the button behind the idrive knob"? That button is to enable voice control. The PDC button is above the ashtray (and below your DVD map slot). Well, re-programming at Jeff Gray Wellington costs about $180 and you might even get new features!!
