Guest Andrew Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Hi, I'm building a turbo system for my M20 B20 motor. It is a euro 320i. I'll give a quick run down on my project before I ask the question. Basically i'm replacing the L-Jet ECU with an aftermarket ECU called the Link. It is a kiwi based company. Anyway, I was intenting to do a direct fire ignition based spark system but I don't have the $$ to pull something like that off just yet (uni student). So I decided to use the distributor and modify it to remove the mechanical/vacuum advance/retard mechanism. The link will control the spark and the advance and retard based on the tps and MAP reading (I won't have the AFM anymore). For the advance/retard to work I'm going to need some kind of TDC sensor. Now I know the diagnostic plug is connected to a TDC sensor, I was wondering if that sensor would be suitable in this kind of situation? Any does anyone know which pin it is so I can hook a multimeter up to it and have a look at its output. Cheers heaps for any advice.
