AV For factory X5 TV

Recommended Posts

When changing channels I noticed it goes up to AV on the screens display.

Does anyone know where the AV inputs are for the TV unit???

It's an E53 BMW X5

Any help much appreciated as always.

The video module (TV unit) has facility for AV input but is not prewired for it. You can buy an adapter plug to fit in series with the TV harness plug or make up a lead to suit

Depending on your X5, this may be cabled to the AV socket on the rear of the centre console, visible from the back seat. The AV socket wiring was optional on some models, standard on others.

Or it may not be cabled at all, in which case you must run the cables to whereever you want and fit them to the connector on the video module (in the spare wheel well on an X5)

From what i know, they are generally not pre-wired in. If your is like the TV in the e39 then it's a 30min jobbie to get it wired up. Thats what i did :)

Very dependent on the model E38 iLs tend to have AV as standard, even the high end X5 has AV as standard

So generally the highline models haveAV, and the non-highline doesn't.

But, as you say, very easy to fit.
