jochen 4 Report post Posted September 6, 2008 hi i have an e38, how do i remove the gps unit from the boot, so ican get into the rest of it. Do you mean the 1. the GPS antenna (on rear parcel tray) 2. The GPS receiver (if Mk1 or Mk2) 3. The navigation computer The nav computer is the unit that houses the CD / DVD drive for the map disc. This comes out using standard radio removal tools, or 4 nails, welding rod, drill bits etc. Insert tools into the 4 holes to release the catches, nav computer can be pulled forward and then connectors disconnected. It is however not necessary to remove the nav computer to remove the boot trim panels. Just remove the nav surround first (clips off) then the trim panel comes away from around the nav.
