simke 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2008 In the last couple of weeks I've noticed something strange - and it doesn't happen every time - when I start the engine, after about 10 sec the yellow oil light comes up on the dash, stays on for about 5 sec and then goes away. It doesn't come up again while driving. My understanding is that the computer thinks oil level is low - I've checked the oil level, looks ok (car had an oil & filter change 3-4 months ago). There is no oil leak (as far as I can see). Could this mean that the oil level sensor is faulty? This happens maybe one in ten times after starting the engine. euroitalian 62 Report post Posted September 23, 2008 Oil level sensors on these commonly fail causing this exact problem. As long as your oil checks out O.K. on the dipstick, just ignore it.
