Adjusting rear self leveling shocks for lowered springs??

does anyone know how to adjust the rear end on an e34 with self leveling shocks?

I plan to get the h & r springs but the rear is obviously going to lift itself when i put the springs in.

Has anyone got any info or links of how to do this? Ive had a fairly good look but have had no luck so far.

[edit] I should mention that I will be doing my e39 touring shortly so Ill let you know how I get on. Many many thanks to Glenn for helping explain it all and to Keith and Ray for sorting me out with the springs in the first place
