cainchapman 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 Yes, it's a great car. I bought an E36 328i on behalf of a mate in CHC a fortnight ago and my wife liked the 3 series. So, it's on the market. I'm going to look for something like a 318is or 325 Motorsport to replace it and spend some money on tricking it up. E30 or E36 This 540 is too rare to play around with. 0-100 in 6.2 seconds. Standing 1/4 in 14.3 and the standing km in 24 seconds. Dyno'd twice, once at Torque Performance 164kW at the wheel and once with the BMW Club at Bellars Motor Works at 150+ (can't remember exact figure). Unbadged car means that you get to surprise a few people on the road. 6th gear makes it economical on the open road. 110kph is about 2000rpm.
Guest Spargo Report post Posted September 24, 2004 If your wife is getting an E36, defo make it an E30 325i Motorsport. For 25K, you could build an E46 M3 eater, that's completely daily drivable.
cainchapman 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 She really doesn't have a preference. Just liked the smaller car for it's chuckability. I like the E30, so if I can find a good 325 or 318 Motorsport, once this is gone, I'll be in. :bounce:

cainchapman 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Oh, sorry. Service history. Yes, by Blackwell in CHC until the warranty expired then by DCH Motorsport until I brought it up here to AKL where it has been serviced by McMillans.
