matt45 1 Report post Posted February 5, 2009 (edited) Hi all, I am looking to replace the stock nokia speakers that i have in the front of my 323, just have a couple of questions: 1. Amplifying big difference or not really worth the money? 2. If i use a amp will the stock speaker wiring handle it? (i know its always better to replace but i would rather not pull half the interior out to do so) 3. What kind of power amp should i be looking at? 4. battery is in the boot so i assume it is safe to power amp straight off there? Car is a e36 323 coupe Pioneer head unit (cant remember model but was 500bux a couple of months ago and has 2 lots of RCA out) Speakers for the front i am still undecided on, looking at 5.2" infinity reference or maybe JBL GTO-506C (i am open to suggestions) and in terms of bux to spend, would like to keep it $400 or less if possible but can stretch that. Also i wont be using a sub. Thanks in advance. Edit: added no. 4 Edited February 5, 2009 by Matt45

Genearlly the stock wiring should handle it but it again comes down to what you want to acheive and how much power you are going to be runnuing. 3/ would be dependent on what speakers you choose. Based on the infinit's i would probably go either a 2 channel or 4 channel around 200-300wrms Reason i suggest 4 channel is just incase you want to add rear speakers you can future proof yourself. Yes it would be fine to run the amp outta the boot. This is just my opinon from my eperiences anyway.
