So how many guys here are also into bikes?

Recommended Posts

A little off what everyone else is into, I've got a, 2005 CRF450X I stick to the dirt, Trail Rides.

Last decent ride was Desert Storm last month. Fasntastic two day trial ride.

I just wish I had more time to do more of it.

Oh you lucky bugger, my mate just bought a new YZ450, awesome fun, will probably look into a two stroke 250 dirt bike over the next few months.

I came off a XR400 onto the CRF. I really was looking for a 250, but the 450 last a bit longer so I thought it would be a better second hand buy. i.e they haven't been rung out to keep up.

XR400 was bullet proof and I have had XR250's as well. Awsome bikes. Cheap to maintain and they go all day.

The CRF I bought had been very well looked after by a guy who had a lot of money, I maintain it very well and don't miss an oil change & filter ever. I clean the air filter religously. So it is a step up in the dollar value on the maintence side. I chew rear tires now as well.

The biggest difference is the suspesion. Absolute night and day. The grunt is good fun, and you can loft over any dip or off the top of any hill you want, or on the flat for that matter. But the suspension. I can ride harder and for longer with the CRF. I used to feel like I had been beaten up after a days riding the XR. CRF I'm bloody tired, but I don't collapse on the couch when I get home now.

Funnily enough though I have had the CRF now for the best part of 6 months and I'm only just starting to get back up to speed with my riding buds. Where as I could hang with them on the XR easily enough. But there is still a lot more potential. Quite a different riding style.

If you don't want the hassel or the expense of a high maintence machine stick with the XR.

For me though, so worth it. One of the quickest ways to get a sustained adrenilen rush I know of.

Apologies for the spelling (no spell check)
