Guest Andrew Report post Posted November 6, 2003 Seriously, for 20 k i'd expect the best e30 cabby out there. Certainly 1988+ . No offence implied here but i'd say that wasn't the best cabby e30 i've seen. I think 10 - 15 is a price you could sell the car at. OR Invest some more coin in it, newer motor etc and have a better car. Just some thoughts.
m_reaney 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 None taken. I am grateful for the feedback you have all given me. Just out of interest, where could I find a hardtop for one of these, and what kind of $$ would I be looking at??
Guest Spargo Report post Posted November 6, 2003 see www.e30zone.co.uk, a couple of my boys have got them.... They'll set you back about 2-3K, but its worth it. Such an improvement over the factory lid. They're not a dealer piece..but i forget who makes them... I'll have a dig for ye.
Guest Andrew Report post Posted November 6, 2003 Anything to do with hardtop e30 seems to be in german.. here is one page in german http://www.csi-auto.nl/carshopping/index.h...0323/index.html You could run it through a translator though. Or buy an e30 hardtop

Guest Andrew Report post Posted November 8, 2003 any more thoughts on what your going to do with the car?
m_reaney 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2003 I am still quite keen on the hardtop, just bloody hard to find one. I have been looking around on the net, and the majority of articles are about people wanting them, rather than selling them. I will still keep looking, the vision of a matching coloured hardtop looks appealing. Thoughts?
Guest Spargo Report post Posted November 9, 2003 Yep, i'll scan a few colour coded pics in after my exam tomorrow, but it is an awesome look for vert's, with all the windows down, and a very small roof line. Looks awesome! I would keep the car if i was you, and go nuts on making it the best in NZ.
m_reaney 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2003 Yeah I think I may head that way. I have seen a few pics of some hardtops and as you have said they do look very sharp. I look forward to the images
Guest Andrew Report post Posted November 9, 2003 Go the hardtop route, then do some engine work. You won't regret it.
m_reaney 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2003 I would not know where to start in terms of engine work, what would you recommend?
Guest Andrew Report post Posted November 9, 2003 well being me i'm going to say TURBO. But... Options could be: M50 swap (from e36 325i) Build your current motor to a 2.7 ltr. They go quite nicely.
Guest Spargo Report post Posted November 10, 2003 cough M102 cough seriously though, i would go M50 / S50.
