the obc in my e34 has buttons that show the timeHR/DATE (and date when you push it the second time),fuel consumptionCONSUM(,two seperate readings, the second visible on the second push, not very pretty readings at times!),RANGE(the remaining distance on the tank of gas)SPEED(average speed since last reset, instant each time you reset)TEMP(outside air temp)TIMER(self explanatory)ARR(arrival time, works in conjuction with dist)DIST(punch in the distance to your destination using the 1000,100,10,1 keys, pushing the ARR key will show your eta based on your speed)LIMIT(a programmable speed warning ie set it at 115 and when you exceed it the "DING" goes)CODE(a programmeale alarm or immobilser).I cant read the writing on your pic but i a sure some of the keys will be the same!

Mine looks like the pic I attached but only has the 1000,100,10,1 keys, SET/RES, CHECK, TIME, DATE.

I know what the check button does but what are they number and SET/RES keys for?

then yours is only active check control - not a full on board computer.
