|ncary 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2009 I was going to post that link! It's a good idea really, can be done. I'd weld it though. Don't know why they talk about locktighting it in, jeeezus dodgy.
E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted June 20, 2009 Yes, SRBMW on this forum has done it and someone else I know in OZ has done it. A lot of custom machining work as opposed to bolting the E36 stuff in. Why do you want to keep the E30 struts??

Why do you want to keep the E30 struts?? Because i already have good shocks and big brakes. does anyone know the collar diameter of e28 or maby e12 hubs, and maby possible to machine it down to fit in e30 wheel bearing? or get a bearing that will accomodate it? tibbs.james 1 Report post Posted June 20, 2009 (edited) I Don't see why you wouldn't just pull of an e30 hub Send it to an engineer Get it replicated but in 5x120 with a larger OD, no sleeves required and it, you could even make it thicker to act like a built in wheels spacer if desired. It would be expensive in the cost of materials and machine work but in theory its the most reliable way to do it and the least obvious that its been modified.
