Loaded Question / Ballpark Figure

Recommended Posts

Guys and gals, need a ballpark figure on a loaded question.

What is a 1987 E30 M3 Evo I (with Evo II specs), black, converted to RHD, all, and I mean ALL the bells and whistles, no rust, no accident damage, registered (ie, you CAN drive it on NZ roads), fully kept-up, receipts since NZ, .... WORTH?

I note that the convertible E30 M3 on TradeMe at $45k has yet to sell.

Shall we have a debate?

Cheers,

J

35-40K I'd suggest.

In America, they speak of the 15K rule. ie: anthing below that isn't worth buying, as you'll spend the same again. (bearing in mind, there's now less than 5000 in the states)

Once the cars are 21 years old, you'll see prices fall through the floor, getting an LHD M3 landed would cost less than 20K. High mileage ones are selling for 5K pounds.

Take that how you will, but there are shitloads of M3's around, it just takes time finding the perfect one. The biggest cost being flying to europe to go and look at it.

Finding an NZ new M3 is next to impossible, and i'd say they'll be the only ones holding their value, that is, untill they become classic cars in say... another 20 years time.

Dunno why that M3 vert hasn't sold, its nearly as rare as a Sport Evo.

Random thought. Sport Evo's are selling for 50K here, so base prices on that?
