BlowMyWhistle 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 Hi y'all. We've got an '89 e30 1.8l Just changed the trans, new one burnt out reverse. duh, what's that smell? Possibly bent shaft since the car we took it from was Tbonered?? But, 1 possibility, the dead trans that came with the car?? Or... to my question. The HP22 that's in the 318's isn't that the trans used on the e34 6cylinder variants? There's a couple of wrecks around, but 325 & 323. unsure at this stage if they is early or late e30's? But put simply, what can we scavenge an auto out of that will fit a late model e30, the HP22 tranny?? Muchos gracias..
