uwa8nc 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2009 Hey guys,i woke up this morning and tried to turn my beemer on but it just wouldn't start It sounds like the spark plugs are not firing. But on my dash board after trying to star the car ... My battery light Flashes(red)... What does this mean? That the battery needs replacement? please,do let me know! Cheers! pureboiracer 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2009 The red battery light on your dash is a signal light to tell you the altinator is charging the battery. when the engine starts it powers up the altinator. when the altinator is powered up it will turn the light off on your dash. Sounds to me like a flat battery. if battery is too flat to crank the car but got enough charge to have dash lights and so on you quite often make the battery light flash as you try to crank it, Try jump starting or charging the battery and see how you go.
