bekker 7 Report post Posted July 12, 2009 Hi folks, I'm sorry 'cause I know this question comes up often. I've searched but haven't found a conclusive answer so here goes. I've finally got my upgrade parts, 750i front calipers and rotors, 730 rear calipers with E34 rotors. The rear pads are sorted - came with pagid I think. The fronts came with a set of 'Fargo' pads which are basically brand new. Now I've never heard of these pads and a web search comes up empty. Unless someone can tell me otherwise I'm thinking these are probably nasty and used by taxi drivers! I know it's 'only' a 525e and a lot of reference is made to high power cars needing better pads. I want good brakes. I can't really see why an M5 braking from 100 kmh (or even 50) deserves better pads than a 525e? I am referring to every day driving of course and I realise that if you're using it for track etc then you would want better pads. But I just want to improve and maximise what is essentially the only active safety feature (no ABS) of my car. So I guess my question is this: What is the 'best' street pads for an E28 with the brake upgrade? Is it OEM? I've used Pagid / Jurid before and found them fine, but haven't really explored anything better. I'd like to preserve the rotors if possible but if more dust is a by product of better stopping power then I can live with dirty wheels. I've been using them on the E28 Race car for the whole of last season, and would recommend them without hesitation. Only used one set, and didn't hit anything, touch wood.
