Forrest 35 Report post Posted August 21, 2009 (edited) So I have one broken passenger side hi beam headlight and one mint condition drivers side hi beam headlight. Obviously the mounting points are different so I am going to take the glass of one and swap it to the other. What is the easiest way to get the glass off? I have heard of people baking them in the oven to soften the glue, using a heatgun or just a straight craft knife. Please help needs to be fixed this weekend. Anyone that has smoked their elipsoids should know how to fix it, Frantic??? Lights are facelift E30. Please and thankyou, Nathan Edited August 21, 2009 by Forrest
Forrest 35 Report post Posted August 21, 2009 Frantic your a legend......sorted. Anyone else who wants to know, 190c bake in oven 3 minutes, use a small small flat head screw driver to 'dig' glue out then just separate the glass from the edge of the metal light piece and it should fall out, don't pry as the glass will chip and break. Guest FrantiC Report post Posted August 22, 2009 All good, Glad it worked for ya. My mum was the one that found the one I melted in our oven. I had our oven on around 240ish, Was in there for over 5 mins as I went to my computer and forgot about it. My mum smelled stuff burning and saw the oven light on (she didn't know I was doing it lol)
