simke 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2009 Right so I just went to the shops and noticed a loud screeching sound (as if metal is rubbing on metal) coming from the left hand side (front I'd say). I'm guessing its not coming from the engine, as I put it in neutral and revved it up, and it sounds ok. But as soon as the car starts moving, the noise is there. Now the brakes (discs and pads) have been changed about a year ago, so... I'm going to take the car tomorrow morning for a check (German Automotive on the Shore is the only place I can think of that is open on saturday), but just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what it might be - i.e. is it safe to take it on the road. greenday-rulz21 6 Report post Posted September 11, 2009 Could just be a stone in the caliper or something.
simke 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2009 That's what I thought, but couldn't see anything... will go and have another look now with a torch light. Not much light in the garage unfortunately.
joshnz 2 Report post Posted September 11, 2009 (edited) Probably just a stone stuck somewhere in the brake assembly, been through roadworks/gravel lately? [edit] owned Edited September 11, 2009 by joshnz
