Random Guy 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2009 Hi all, I have been putting up with a serious loss of power for the last week or two. I have checked the air filter and its all good, so I replaced the fuel filter and still no joy. I noticed that the hose that runs from the back of the air box to the carb has got a split in it. Would this be causing me to lose so much power? It feels like the car is starving for something. Oil levels are o.k. and there are no check lights up on the dash. Engine is a bit smoky and borderline for a warrant. Ideas anyone? Cheers Keith
Forrest 35 Report post Posted September 11, 2009 (edited) Run some fuel injector cleaner, check for vacume leaks in any hoses Edit: Surely your m20 isn't carbed? Do you mean the throttle body hoses have a split in them? Edited September 11, 2009 by Forrest
Random Guy 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2009 Yep, sorry. That hose to the throttle body is split. I have run some cleaner through and it fixed it for about half a day which is why I changed the fuel filter.
Forrest 35 Report post Posted September 12, 2009 Replace that hose would be the first thing I would do.
