Removing a boot spoiler?

Recommended Posts

I've got a boot spoiler (like the piture attached if I've done it right) that I'm wanting to remove and I'm not sure the best way to go about it? There appears to be 4 screws holding it on, one of which has no thread left on the head. As well as that, I'm pretty sure it's glued on as well?

Is it a good idea to drill out the screw, scrape out the glue and pull it off? That was my plan until I spoke to a guy at the garage today who said take it to a panelbeaters and get it done properly as they are quite tricky to do. Ideally I'd like to sell it once it's off so what's the best way of doin it? Thanks guys..

Post 10 holds the key.

You will need turps and you will have to take the bootlid off.

*edit* Hmm you have a E36, might be different. But still, I bet the glue is there...

Thanks mate. Ok, so it's off now and with a minimal amount of swearing. What are these spoilers worth? I have no idea at all. There's one on trade me exactly the same and the guy is wanting $500 for it?? Surely they're not worth that much?
