DRTDVL 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2009 I guess really just working with customers so customer service . But like i love to design etc Have you thought about hitting up design company? How about print shops, sign writers? A lot of those places use in house designers as a service for clients, have a look at some of the smaller companies - make up a portfolio of varied work from business cards, flyers, photo touch-ups, etc... and go in... some places might be interested... it also gives you work experience in the industry your wanting to eventually get into. Other things, hit your local newspapers classified sections for services for photo touch-ups, simple design work, etc... You would be suprised about the number of people that run their own companies that would need help with document layouts, letterhead creation, etc... antony 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2009 (edited) A few places you might not think to ask at... Hotels Roading Contractors (or any big workshop) Movie Cinema Petrol station Do up a classy CV, with a good cover letter (dont use a generic one), get your white/yellow pages. Start from where you want to work then go from there. Call them, then go in and shake there hand, and leave your CV with them. Make a good impression, and if they dont need you, chances are they will remeber if a job comes up in discussion with a mate. Worst that comes from it is you get some invaluable experience in job hunting/interviews which will put you ahead of the game when you leave uni. laadeelaa 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2009 Yeah because that's a real 'get ahead' career choice. Haha. I was actually just suggesting it as a part time job. I'd much rather work in a bar than at a supermarket. So much more fun than packing shelves. Plus who doesn't like the sneakys? Don't worry Brook. You still live with your parents man. Most parents are pretty supportive. Waste all your money on some rims, and scab off them, you're still young, it's a teens duty. Good luck. You'll probably suss out a job through someone you know. It's not what you know. It's who you know.

I think I would go insane sitting on my arse for the next 4 months.
