engine oil light keeps coming on on my check panel although there is no problems with the oil.

Can this be a faulty censor, if so where is it located?

e30 ?

The level sensor is found under the alternator in the part of the oil sump that protrudes out... Pulls out from the top, 2 10mm screws and no you don't need to drain the oil to remove this as it sits higher than the oil level.

This sensor is the one to your check panel, lights on when the level is low (just under half way of the dipstick I think)
