318isteve 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2009 Hay everyone, I have a friend with an e30 f/l who has overheated the bugger and blown the gasket, it all looks pretty straight and clean (for having a blown head gasket) and wants to sell it to me for $450. I figure since the body's mint the interior is clean as I may as well buy it and get the head crack tested/skimmed whack a new gasket in and clean/flush the whole lot try n get it going again.. worst comes to the worst I can flick of bits and pieces and make some money back.. Apparently they are known for cracking the head under the cam? Anyone got any input or experience on fixing overheated head gaskets that have or havn't gone so well? Cheers guys! 39KiwiTouring 2 Report post Posted November 16, 2009 I just posted in another thread how I turned one down all be it in sounding worse condition than this one, I only offered $300 as the wrecker would give me $220, so no risk really, I would be $380-400 up to you, does it still run just overheating or totally immobile? 318isteve 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2009 I should be able to get it for $400 and still runs relatively well. Yea figured the risk was reasonably low
