shadowninja 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2005 One of my clients was in this on New Years Eve. Forced off the road by another car. He walked away with just a cracked rib. & his GF was unscathed.

Guest Spargo Report post Posted January 15, 2005 Shows good crash indegrity, but what if the side with the door ripped off had landed on a rock or something of that nature?
Homy.D.Clown 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2005 thats REALLY odd for a door to be torn off..u sure the fire dep or whoever didnt cut it off to get to the passengers? usually they wedge themselves closed and you have to cut the outer skin to unlatch the mechanism(or just go feral and chop chop the door) but hey its a ford so im not really worried that i'll ever be in one get a rotor.........diesel

E30_318i 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2005 Apparantly those BA Falcons are getting real bad rust problems underneath the panels, much worse than the VT-VX Commodores where they would rust on the underside and around the A-pillars and windscreen. Wonder if we'll see these still serving as taxis in 7+ years time.

hamiltonjapan 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2005 Shadow Ninja, your picture is poof, one should never be caught driving a Japanese automobile. European is the way to go. My mate has a Toyota Celsior (lexus outside Japan). It cost a 100k, but when it rains "spat, spat" like a tin roof hut. Even my E46 is better at less than half the price. shadowninja 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2005 Shadow Ninja, your picture is poof, one should never be caught driving a Japanese automobile.Dude what are you on...? I drive an E46 ... this particular car is an American car assembled in Australia, and his normal car is a Saab convertible. And anyway... nothing wrong with most Japanese cars, not even Honda CRX's. My previous car was Japanese (S15 200SX SR20DET) and it rocked hard.
hamiltonjapan 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2005 (edited) I'm here typing away in Japan. And anyone with any decency (people not in poverty) here does NOT drive a Japanese car. Seriously. Every Japanese I know drives either a BMW, Mercedes, Volks Wagen, Volvo, Cadillac, etc... When the people making the cars don't think they're any good, then I think that's saying a lot. If anyone asked me to reccomend a cheap car, I'd reccomend a Hyundai or a made in Nth Korea FIAT before I reccomend them a Toyota. Munts316i 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2005 When the people making the cars don't think they're any good, then I think that's saying a lot. i think if what your saying is true it would less be because of the quality of cars and be more to do with the statement a type of car can make about your success. this would also explain why PIMP cars are in japan, because the boost and idea of success for the owner. because all japanese people dont drive Nur Spec GTRs doesnt mean they arent any good. really now. Every Japanese I know drives either a BMW, Mercedes, Volks Wagen, Volvo, Cadillac, etc... so the JAPAN tuning companies that specialise in tuning jap cars dont like their cars?...dude its a MASSIVE business, all the Japan Gt cups, leauges, and other races, for jap cars, in japan also... making bunt, blanket untrue statements makes you look retarded. Grant 4 Report post Posted January 21, 2005 When the people making the cars don't think they're any good, then I think that's saying a lot. If anyone asked me to reccomend a cheap car, I'd reccomend a Hyundai or a made in Nth Korea FIAT before I reccomend them a Toyota. Why would you recommend a Hyundai over a Toyota? Toyota sell their previous generation technology to Hyundai. So you are saying that people should buy a car made with Toyota's previous technology ahead of a car made with their current technology? That makes sense!! Cheers
Guest Andrew Report post Posted January 21, 2005 Toyota is the number 1 selling car in New Zealand - I think the new line of Hyundai will take them on those stakes though. A car is a car - there is no reason not to have a japanese car. In regard to safety some of them get the same or higher rating than some euro cars (i.e the Avensis) and some drive extremely well (Mazda 3, 6, Miata), being the ones i've driven the most. So often you come across people who know nothing about their cars other than "it's a black bmw" or whatever.... These are the people who rubbish japanese cars for their apparent "cheapness" and "jap crap" sort of sh*t that came about in the seventies, alot because people never gave a sh*t about looking after them because of their low price tag. Japanese cars that wer looked after in that time peroid are anyhing but "jap crap" and i wouldn't hesitate in owning something like that. You have a very pointed outlook on japanese people's motoring purchasing, every japanese person you know would not drive non-jap cars, you obviously don't know alot of people......... If thats so true why don't we see all these as second hand imports????? there seems to be a f**kload of jap cars still coming out of japan as imports and not alot of euros still, theres a few but not THAT many people such as you are very narrow minded, honestly....... hamiltonjapan 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2005 So I've seemed to have stirred up some sh*t here. Please accept my appologies. I'll go into a little more detail, and try to clearlify the situation for some of you. * I live in Ashiya in Kobe, it's a upscale place but not that high up (like remuera in Auckland). Everyone in my apartment building drives a european/american car. * Skylines/Celicas/Imprezzas/Integras are driven soley by single "just got out of school", "this is my first car" type drivers. I've never seen anyone except youngsters strapped for cash driving these cars. * Why reccomed a Hyundai. Value for money. And toyota have no alliances with hyundai that I know of. I do know that they produce their engines with Daimler Chyrsler benz. * Many Japanese Nationalists drive Japanese cars because they are "SO" proud. Remember Subaru was the Biggest manufactuer of the "Zero" planes in WW2. * Housewives drive Cheapo cars. * Japan is a poor country these days. There are many more poor people than in NZ. * And who the hell would buy a Lexus instead of a BMW 7 series or a S-Class. There is 100% no doubt that Lexus doesn't even compare to BMW or Mercedes. * These days, most European cars in Japan get shipped to the middle east. That's why they don't go your way. * New fairly expensive Japanese cars still only come with 2 airbags. That's cost cutting at it's worst. Though some poeple think they're "safe" cars. * Toyota is stopping the windom, soarer, celcior, harrier cars this year. And they're selling them under the LEZUS umbrella in Japan. Because Lexus is "made in USA", more jappers will buy the cars. Even Toyota knows whats what.
