*RJ* 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 I started the car up this morning and I could hear, what I believe to be, the distributor making a bit of a sound - sounds like the bearings are going(gone) as it happened in my Prelude. 14kms on the motorway, I get to work and it is considerably louder. Any ideas on this one guys? Is this a common fault?

*RJ* 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2005 Thanks for that 318is. Funny thing is that it's stopped that sound - should I be worried?
318is 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2005 only if it comes back. If it does, grab a socket set extension, shove one end in your ear, and the other onto the suspected noise maker. "feel' around with your stethoscope until you find where the noise is being emitted from/loudest. Obviously, dont go jamming it in the rad fan or on the dizzy leads or anything stuipd like that
