318 Transplant

Hi,just wondering what engines have you guys put in 318 1983-1989 bmws,and how much it cost and was it hard.

and also would a 1991-1992 BMW 318is(M42) motor fit in An 1986 318 .

M42's fit but are rare and not that powerful so why bother. 2.5L M20 just as easy to fit, more powerful and easier to find.
