nastnas 9 Report post Posted January 19, 2010 hi guys, about 2 weeks ago, i changed my discs and pads, when this was done i did not bleed the system, just pushed the pedal back. as i was took the car for a test drive i noticed the pedal was really spongy on the first press of the brakes. ( the 2nd press requires less brake pedal travel) at the time i thought it was just the new discs and pads, so they need to bed in... well today the problem was still going on, so i figured somehow i should bleed the system, so i put in dot5.1 fluid... but the pedal is still spongy.... any advice, much appreciated. Docile 64 Report post Posted January 19, 2010 did u bleed the system properly?? you need 2 guys to bleed it. 1 pumping the pedal while you are at the bleed valve letting out air. on all 4 brake calipers.
