Recommended Posts

hello everyone,

I have a 2003 Bmw x5 4.4 (which was made in japan). I had given up nav convertion because its cost. But i really like use ipod to listen mp3 and watch video through nav screen and speakers. Anyone could help me? Which one is the best? Dice or dension? Thanks for viewing my post.

Kind regards

Hey, I'm going thru the same thing at the moment for my E39.

Go to www.gadgets4u.co.nz for DICE.

Richard seems really good - I am buying a setup off him as we speak.

They're supposedly very easy to install!

A few others here have good opinions on this stuff.

I too have just fitted a DICE from Richard to my E39 Touring

The first unit had some issues, and Richard replaced it no worries! 2nd unit works great.

So easy to install:

1. Disconnect Car Battery

2. Locate and disconnect the two plugs to the CD Changer ( I took changer right out and left it out )

3. Run cable to front of car

4. Find a suitable place for the DICE box ( mine is just in the glovebox at present )

5. Plug cable from DICE box to ipod

6. Reconnect Car battery

7. Program DICE features, such as where to view song Text etc ( Goto DICE website for manual )

No I believe mine is audio only (not interested in videos).

Just give Richard a call - he's a helpful guy and will have what you need.

Thanks camera doctor.

Brunch, yours can play video thru widesrceen? That's so cheap.

Hi,

Did you know you can convert your X5 Japane nav+TV system with not-so-nice fonts graphics to a full Euro compliant TV system 8without the nav) just by unplugging one connector?

If you unplug the Jap nav, the system will reboot next time in TV-only mode, and you will have the standard Euro look and feel TV system, with nothing Japanese left in.

That means:

More screen real-estate

Better fonts

Multi-lingual for all 6 languages

And it stays totally integrated with everything you currently have

And if you don't like it, just plug the nav back in and reboot the system, and you are back to where you were.

To try it: unplug the connector on the nav computer.

I picked up a DICE unit from Richard last year, there were some software glitches with the earlier units but I have to say Richard was simply top self to deal with, always quick repies even met me in Wellington to test a replacement unit. I couldn't be happier with the unit. Money well spent.

Install was very straight forward less than 20mins.

Go for it!!!
