bmw_tonci 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2010 Hey guys, I've got the braking shudder at motorway speeds well known to other members of this forum. I've searched both this forum and google and seen that for some people it is caused by warped rotors, others it was ball joints or lower control arms. is it easiest to have it looked at by Midas or pitstop or similar. Who would you suggest to have this checked at and what is an acceptable price for having the rotors replaced, including pads etc which may as well be replaced at the same time? and if it is not the brakes whats acceptable pricing for ball joints and LCABS as the alternative fix? Thanks in advance for suggestions or opinions, Tonci
JiB 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2010 Perhaps drop it in with Glenn or any other workshop familiar with BMWs. Our forum sponsor EuroItalian is very good with pricing on genuine parts. Give Gavin a call.
cliffdunedin 8 Report post Posted June 1, 2010 What he said^^^ Though changing rotors are not a big job... Glenn Said yesterday "you will either have to machine or replace rotors with a pad change otherwise you run this risk of shimmy under braking" Have the pads been changed recently? that could be the problem!
