my_e36 43 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 Did you spill anything in the centre console lately?? Check the brightness adjuster, fuse and bulbs. Does the needles work as normal?? If everything doesn't work, maybe a dead instructment cluster.
gmccormack 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 Is the car fitted with standard radio or after market one. I have seen a few cars fitted with new radio's run into the same or similar problems. They put in a new radio and either the dash lights or park lights or tail lights don't work afterwards. Some radios take a wire from the cars lighting to control the brightness of the radio display if this is not connected correctly you get problems with parts of the lighting system, never the headlights as they are controlled by relays but in a secondary part of the lighting system. dratsum 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 hey guys thanks for all the replies, its definately not the brightness adjuster and it still has the standard headunit so its not that either. I think my parents are taking it into the shop soon to get it fixed (was in a crash recently and still needs some minor things to be fixed up) so they will get it looked into then Cheers
