dickhead 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 I just read in The Press "Members of Students Against Driving Drunk released 119 balloons in Cathedral square in Christchurch on Saturday, marking the number of Canterbury crashes that involved drink drivers in 2008. Spokesman James Morrison said 145 people were killed in these crashes. The 2008 statistics are the latest available to the group." These numbers clearly don't even sound remotely accurate, and the real statistics in 2008 in Canterbury are a TOTAL of 46 deaths, with only 6 people being killed in crashes listing alcohol as a main contributing factor.
