pureboiracer 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2010 yeah thats a reasonable price for it, its not a steal but its not overpriced as he seems to have spent alot of coin. the hatch versions are a different ball game though, my ex boss is selling his one for 40k, has a few people interested, but its in factory conidion with only 30something ks on the odo. Really that much! When i was living in Scotland 5 years ago i bought a hatch for 5000 quid and flicked it on when i came home for 6k this had done around 50 miles and was sooo nice to drive, have not found another turbo car that has such a good power range. Creaver 55 Report post Posted September 3, 2010 I had this car inspected previously by a cosworth specialist in Hawkes Bay, said a rebuild was required shortly...
bellicose 9 Report post Posted September 3, 2010 (edited) Hold out for a later model 4x4 one. I had a Moonstone blue 4x4 and it was so much more of a car than the 2wd Sapphires. Sold that and bought a Sierra Cosworth (2 door) very low k's but 397 RWHP and that thing used to scare the sh*t outa me every time it rained lol. I'd look at this one http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-313814874.htm PS: Sapphire Cosworth = 4 door. Sierra Cosworth = 2 door. ED1RTY 2 Report post Posted September 3, 2010 Badass cars.. Badass dent in the wallet if something goes wrong. I had probably the best example of a Sapphire Cosworth in the country. 4x4 ones are for soft cocks. Get a RWD and stick a Quaife in it.. Sooo much win
39KiwiTouring 2 Report post Posted September 3, 2010 Get an RS500 2 door, or nothing at all.
sascha 17 Report post Posted September 3, 2010 PS: Sapphire Cosworth = 4 door. Sierra Cosworth = 2 door. Just so you know - i dont know fords at all (always interested in learning something though), But, I'm just curious, you say Sierra = 2door, but all those ones (including the link you posted) are sierra's but all four door? Did i miss something?
bellicose 9 Report post Posted September 3, 2010 Sierra is the name for the first gen covering sedan, wagon, coupe (3 window, range form 1600 pinto up to RS Cosworth), coupe (5 window, XR4i and XR4iT, Merkur USA only), 5 door hatch (XR4x4 and 2wd pinto) Sapphire is 2nd gen sierra but name covers sedans only. That's how i decifered it from the Sierra books and lit' i have. More info' here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Sierra Sierras have always been in my top 5 car list. Hi-Tek 3 Report post Posted September 3, 2010 They're all Sierras, Sapphire was not a name Ford gave the 4 doors originally.
bellicose 9 Report post Posted September 3, 2010 (edited) They're all Sierras, Sapphire was not a name Ford gave the 4 doors originally. Am i correct in assuming you are the same 'HY-TEK' that had a 2 door a couple years ago? Edited September 3, 2010 by bellicose
ED1RTY 2 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 Don't think so John, He owned my old Sapphire prior to me. But to my knowledge that was his only Sierra.
