shaneg 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2010 Pretty good gps locator for those instances where you might lose your phone.. you can look up your location on google latitude and see where it is.. Runs in the background and uses cell towers to triangulate your location, also can save a kml file so you can look at where youve been. IOS 4.1 causes it to crash, was fine before think it should be ok with 4.2 though.. PlaceTrack
cliffdunedin 8 Report post Posted September 24, 2010 Interesting, from that article i couldn't figure out how you actually locate it...through your pc?
shaneg 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2010 Yeah, you just need to sign up for a google account, then when you sign in and go on to google latitude up pops your location and address.. and as its web-based you could do this from any pc/mac or even someone elses iphone.. so if your phone was on the "move" you could see where its heading.. I guess youd have to be prepared to confront someone to get it back.. Another cool feature is location sending, if the missus needs to pick you up you can send her an email of your location which then pops up in her iphone via google maps with directions.. Obviously it could be used for evil as well as good.. like most technology these days.

shaneg 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2010 You'd hope so being an apple product.. How much is it a year? 149? I suppose it's worth it now that vodafone won't insure iPhone 4's anymore!

Not sure how much, my company gets the bill. Bloody useful though...I use the webmail, backup, iPhone locator, galleries and other bits too.
