kiwiland 3 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 In the news today a prime example of how this country is going to the dogs. Appears 2 prisoners escaped from custody while being "escorted" from the cells to the courtroom by security staff. Now the public is being warned that they are dangerous and should not be approached. Time we adopted the USA method of shackles on wrists and ankles together with chain when "dangerous" types appear in court. Or would this conflict with their precious rights
simke 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 Yep seems to me that the system is more concerned with the rights of this scum. The system is too soft, I mean NZ has less population than some of the big cities elsewhere, and yet we seem unable to control the crime rate. For a country with population of just over 4 million, reading about murders, bashings, stabbings and shootings on almost daily basis is just unbelievable. If say police was to beat the sh*t out of the next dozen d*heads arrested for such crimes, I'm sure the rest would think twice about doing something similar in the future. Don't get me wrong, I don't like violence, but there is a certain part of society that just simply does not understand anything else.
fuzyfrog 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 Considering you are not allowed to shackle prisoners inside the prison I cant see it happening in courts.
