M3_guy 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2010 Hi guys just had my front head light blew in my car... H4 I think. Been so long since last one blew so wanted to ask whats the best light bulb you can buy apart from going to HID stuff... NARVA? Phillips? Bosch do lights as well? I want something practical and Bright regardless of colour. Cheers!!!!
arros 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2010 Many threads on BS about headlight bulbs. Narva Plus 50 give noticeably more light. Philips Vision Plus is good too. These will give more light than standard. I found white light products like "Ice Blue", "Arctic White" give the appearance of a whiter light (filtering by way of a blue coating on the glass) but don't produce more light over stock. elmarco 56 Report post Posted November 10, 2010 There are actually sweet FA different bulb manufacturers for H4. From memory Philips are one, Osram are another. Most of the brands you find in NZ (like Narva or Hella) are reboxed bulbs from one of the manufacturers. Things to note: - +50 means they will be brighter but not last as long. - make sure they are low UV bulbs and have an E mark on the base. - don't touch the glass. - H4 means they have high and low beam in the same bulb - you can only legally put HID in if you put the entire kit (including self levelling and washer systems) in. HID burners by themselves are a no no.
