Hombrey 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2010 Hi everyone. I'm in the final stages on pinning down a 2000 540i motorsport. Hard to find down here in Wellington so having to go up to Auckland. Just waiting on the final details. Have read posts here about prepurchase checks etc. Pretty keen to get a nicer sound from the exhaust and also maybe some tints. Use to have a SS commodore but think the BMW look a bit more comfy but still quick. Anyway, will be reading plenty as big user of forums to learn about cars so will be tapping into as much experience and knoweldge as I can get my hands on. Welcome, I have a feeling after you own one of these you will never go back to a SS Commodore More comfy, less noise and just as quick. One thing I would say, drive a few e39 then you know how they accelerate from standstill. Some cars are just so slow, don't know why, some 540i I've driven are so slow to accelerate from standstill. I think it might mean something is wrong or or something is dirty.
