0ghost0 2 Report post Posted January 28, 2011 So with my last e30 turning out like this: I decided to do it right this time, bought myself a little 318i pfl which looked like this when i got it: And noticed after a month symptoms of a leaking head gasket so pulled that apart to find a cracked block yadayadayada: So about 3-4 months down the line (present) i got my finger out of my ass and decided to put the new engine in, no mods, want it reliableish: Got that done after a few teething problems, My motivation was to get these fitted: And right now its running and got them on the front, im happy as with it, To come: all 4 on and better pics of the final product
tcbaurpower 5 Report post Posted January 28, 2011 Looking great are you waiting on new tyres for the rear or just the rain to stop. What were the teething problems? Just curious as it may help someone else if they are searching the internet for solutions.

0ghost0 2 Report post Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) Looking great are you waiting on new tyres for the rear or just the rain to stop. What were the teething problems? Just curious as it may help someone else if they are searching the internet for solutions. Just waited for the rain to ease, the rears are on now, looks alright, but as said, really needs a bit more of a drop.Teething problems: fig 8 here:http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=1011&mospid=47252&btnr=11_0681&hg=11&fg=35 sensor on "TEMPERATURE SENDING UNIT/WARNING CONTACT" seems to have had a dodgey connection, resulted in NO idle at all. throttle body was all gunked up, resulting in just a nasty idle again. advance and retard vaccum hose that connects dizzy to throttle body gunked up, resulted in slow revs, no engine braking. and its still running pretty rich seems to be running on cold start mode, Any ideas? The paintwork looks incredibly tidy, has it had a respray? Sure has, stock colour but with a metalic finish on it, painting A-B pillars black within next month.
