Hartage 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 DO YOU MEAN THE TOP END IN SIDE THE CAR? If so then the only way that i have found to remove them is to grind them off. Then replace them with new bolts. They were a break off security feature.

gmccormack 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 on ETK the steering coupling is shown held in with bolts...however its held in by these stud looking things...how do i get them off? If your talking about the rubber coupling on the steering shaft in the engine bay, some have normal bolts, but others have studs with splines that stop them from rotating in the coupling. Just undo the nuts and it will still come apart without resorting to the angle grider. If you need to change the studs they can be pressed or hammered out once the coupling is out of the car. The nuts should not be reused.
Gus 5 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 ive got new coupling, bolts and nuts, but its held in by studs so i should remove the whole universal joint jobbie and get them out whilst out the car....makes sense!
