j.ingledew 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 What sort of frame are you going to run? And what motor
kerry 10 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 not sure yet, have to see what comes my way in the near future
j.ingledew 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 What ever you do, do not build a rigid. You will regret it straight away, New Zealand roads consume rigids and hard tails. Go with a soft tail, not too much rake, and do something different with the motor, the v-twin is sooo done, and theres nothing unique you can do with the pan and shovel heads. Put in a Suzuki GSXR motor from a Hyabusa, 1300cc of pure awesome. And you can buy a turbo kit for it
bellicose 9 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 Funny you should start a thread 'bout this Kerry, i'm just starting on my 2nd one. The thing about "Bobbers" is you can use nearly any kind of bike. Pros = fun, fun, fun. Cons = Haven't found any yet lol............................................Ok yes i have, the cost of yearly rego, but you forget that when you're blasting along the beach front in 30 degree weather. Check here for ideas and inspiration. http://www.rattlers.co.nz/forum/index.php?...977b757b006a45a

kerry 10 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 awsome. found a old ag 100 haha wonder if that would be suitable for a frame to chop.
bellicose 9 Report post Posted March 24, 2011 Kerry, you want to start with something like this. '88 Honda CD250U. Runs like a brand new bike, 27,000 miles, EVERYTHING works perfectly. Picked it up hour & half ago from middle of nowhere, $500 Trademe special. Pic's don't show how tidy it really is.

j.ingledew 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2011 AG 100? Really? Unless youre doing something insane with it, I am not liking it. I put a 400cc ninja motor into a KX 80 a while back.

bellicose 9 Report post Posted March 25, 2011 Do it right Yeeeeahh buddy Good looking bikes but.........................they are more towards Streetfighters than Bobber. Have done a few Streetfighters and although they look tough as f**k i can tell you they are an absolute piece of sh*t to ride. Kerry, the joy of Bobbers is there are NO rules. If you want to start with an AG100 then go for it mate.
