325 E30 Cutting Out

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I've only owned the car about 3 weeks and on Saturday and last night it cut out intermittently. From what I've found on the forum it sounds like a smoked capacitor connection in the ECU. I don't understand what is meant by dry solder join but could I just get in there and re-solder the capacitor?

Cheers

Tim

dry solder joint is generally a hairline crack that appears around components on any circuit board over time, can be caused by heat expansion / contraction over time, poor quality solder

resolder with a bit of additional solder usually resolves most dry solder issues
